Don’t Be Tricked – Fairfax Car Accidents & Whiplash Claims

It might not be as easy as you might think to collect money on your Fairfax car accident claim. Insurance companies are businesses – businesses that focus on making a profit. Paying claims only diminishes their bottom lines, so don’t be surprised when the insurance company fights you every step of the way.

Whiplash Shouldn’t be Downplayed

As chiropractor Corey Malnikof puts it, whiplash and other soft tissue injuries require extensive treatment to get the pain level down and reduce inflammation. He explains that scar tissue can form in the neck after a car accident. Over time, if you fail to get treatment your neck can change form.

Resolving Whiplash Claims

Despite the pain and treatment associated with whiplash injuries, these claims can be difficult to resolve with the insurance company. Insurers have been known to use such tricks as:

  1. Delaying payment
  2. Scrutinizing medical bills
  3. Requesting unnecessary information
  4. Acting like your friend

Be very cautious when talking with the insurance adjuster, but at the same time don’t let this person intimidate you. The adjuster will most likely offer you a low settlement and be prepared to counter back.
